"Piglet sidled up to Pooh from behind. 'Pooh?' he whispered.
'Yes, Piglet?'
'Nothing,' said Piglet, taking Pooh's hand. 'I just wanted to be sure of you.'"
~~
I want a Pooh for Christmas. Or I should say, I want a One Hundred Acre Woods to run off to with my own SleepyBear, so we can play all day. I'll hold a piglet's hand so as to not make him scared, and we'll go by the river and play poohsticks over the bridge. We might even try to catch an heffalump. But most of all we'll sit in that place that is nice for picnics and bask in the sun and dream away the day. And when the snow comes, we'll make snowmen until we can't feel our toes and fingers and nose anymore, then we'll hide in a tree and drink hot chocolate and tea with honey and let songs come to us and hum them in the dim light of a fire.
~~
"How lucky I am to have something that makes saying goodbye so hard."

When I restored the saved draft, it just said, "Please". I don't remember writing that, and I wonder how I would have elaborated if whatever interrupted me hadn't done. Oh, who cares about prayers. I don't care about nothing, nothin'. I hate to say that this has been a bad day because nothing ought to be that black-and-white to me. You become dead weight when you resign yourself to being or feeling "bad", I just hate that. Perhaps it's not about people and rather about time. This is a bad time. To hell with you. It's my time, too. If you don't like what we're making of it, then you try to do a better job on your own. I think it bothers me because someone I know always wrote days off as good or bad, and almost always bad. I knew then that he would be impossible to get on with as long as he was having a "bad day". It's such an awful generalization, but I can't help myself now. I know this is your day, too, but I want to talk to a real person. Please!

So... I posted awhile ago trying to brainstorm, and now I actually have the funds to start on a room :)
Since I spend a large amount of time in my bedroom, and I'd like it to become a sanctuary/getaway and all around pleasant wonderful place to fall asleep and wake up, I decided to start here.
I had NO idea where I wanted to begin, so I told my boyfriend (who does not live with me, but spends at least every other night here, if I'm not at his place) to choose the color for a new set of sheets and we'd design around them.
He chose Navy Blue (and bought me several sets), which I am happy with, but unfortunately did not help to kick start any awesome ideas for wall color or the rest of the bedding. I am currently using a white comforter, and will most likely not be getting a new one til I finish the room up, as I would like to save and buy a really nice one.
I don't think that I want blue walls, but I was thinking perhaps a gray?
My bedroom furniture is pretty much black (TV stand, bed frame - ho headboard)
But I do have this dresser that I dumpster dived from work. I will eventually find a mirror for it, or just saw off the posts. (I am willing to paint it as well)

The walls are currently dingy white and that "sunset orange" color.
Suggestions to get me started... or at least inspire me to come up with something, because I am a total blank right now.

We bought a new house in April and have been working since then to get it finished. I keep saying I'll do one big post when it's done, but instead it seems I'm going room-by-room. I posted my son's room and our patio in recent months. I'm hoping soon to post our living room/hallway, kitchen/dining room and bathroom. But for now, here's our bedroom that we just finished yesterday (save one or two finishing touches). As always, you can click on a photo to see a bigger version on Flickr.

*Edit* Trade has been made, thanks!! *Edit*
I posted-a week or more ago-some images of a card set I got with the art work of Jeffrey Jones on it. I had bought a huge unopened deck and when everything was said and done I had three whole card sets. I gave one away to my mother, but I don't have anyone to give the other set to. I was wondering if someone on here might want to trade for it. It wouldn't have to be cards for cards. Just something pretty for something pretty.
( Here is a refresher of what some of the art work is like )
Just send me a message! Thanks!

I comment here a fair amount but haven't made a post in ages..scary, no?
My bedroom currently remains very similar to how it was when I last posted 1-2 years ago, but I'm having some real problems with my workspace and would love some ideas on how to make it more functional as well as inspirational and motivational.
Right now I am an 18-year-old Photography/Media 6th form student living at home and a hopefully-soon-to-be fashion student; whilst I tend to do most of my work at school because of their fabulous printers, I occasionally use my laptop for last-minute research, so it needs to be practical for a busy yet lazy student. I also write this fashion blog and tend to scribble ideas down on bits of paper and shove them into drawers and forget about them. Additionally I sell on Ebay and so have parcel tape, envelopes and sharpie pens scattered around the place which I need to keep together, though I keep my envelopes in our rather packed, even messier junk room so it's not quite as full. Therefore my area also needs to have great organisation and motivate me to write regularly and keep everything tidy, organised and out of the way. On top of all of that, I use it for my regular internet stuff such as MSN and Facebook, plus the occasional DVD and CD. That is a lot of computer time in one day!
So how does one transform a small half-bedroom space into a super-motivation work station without spending too much money?
( pixx here )
I'd be so grateful for any ideas on how to revamp the space.

I really really really want to visit Winter Efteling this year!

Doesn't it look super nice? I can't wait to go :)

I'm looking for ideas for some type of window covering that doubles as a faux headboard.
Our king size bed is against a wall with medium sized window. I have the window itself covered with black cloth because the heat and sunlight is unbearable. My kids have sort of mangled the cheap blinds so we're needing to cover it up completely. Any ideas?

My friend's dad, Tom Chan, painted this bookmark.
It's in watercolour, so it really captures that ethereal presence of the Northern Lights. Inspired by my love of these Lights, and of this painting, I wrote the following poem. Enjoy.
